April is Child Abuse Prevention Month!
Update: Due to a scheduling problem the
county commissioners will not be able to read the proclamation at tomorrow's
meeting (3-26-02)...we are hoping for Tuesday April 8th. (after spring
break)
Florence B. from CCHHS will purchase the
memorial flag
Pamela L.-A. is perfecting public service
announcements
Diana A. will take the PW display board to
Kidsfest with brochures, bookmarks, etc.
Jan L. is scheduling the Memorial for
Children Who Have Lost their Lives to Violence for Friday April 26th.
at Noon at the Veteran 's Memorial Park on Lincoln Street
Note: This committee is operating by phone,
fax, e-mail and the occasional cup of coffee at Bonny's Bakery...if you have

Minutes
Present: Diana and Pamela with input from others....
Signs will be on Sequim and Forks Commuter buses thanks to
Terry McDonald at On the Move Media
Cmmsr. Doherty has expressed consideration of proclamation of
"April is Child Abuse Prevention Month". Diana has contacted
the Cmmr's. offices at began the formal request process. Will also
request scheduled appearance for reading of proclamation and input
(tentatively March 26 at 10 am in the Cmmrs meeting room). All who
can, please plan on attending.
Carol H. did not purchase flag last year, but has forwarded
information to Florence B. at the County. They may be able to
purchase. We will formally request this and hopefully get flag hung at
several civic locations during April.
Diana made a small C.A.P. display for the big event with Judy
Ford...
Pamela is refining PSA's and will also do media advisory as
more dates are firmly set for events such as cmmsr. meeting and memorial.
Carol is continuing to work on a display board.
Jan continues to coordinate memorial...
Last year many PW members made and distributed blue
ribbons..once again we're asking members to take on this task.
Any West End input would be appreciated on events there or
things that can span the county...

15th, 2002 Present:

signs: Upstairs at Healthy Families Diana will call Clallam Transit about more
info on getting them put on the busses. Do we want more signs???? Currently
we will ask for the Forks and Sequim commuter routes. Jan
agreed to coordinate 2nd annual memorial for children who have died as a
result of abuse. Carol
will be asked to coordinate moveable display (similar to last years). Mike
Doherty will help with Proclamation, Florence suggests getting a
scheduled work session with Commissioners to do presentation. Diana will begin
process. A Also, blue
ribbons. We need people to help make and distribute. We will talk more about
this at the next meeting. NEXT
