Minutes from 10-10-02
Those attending were Florence Bucierka, Jennifer Charles,
Nita Quan, Ida Carroll, Pam Arnott and Janet Williams. First Steps Team
Training on December 2, 2002 from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Port
Angeles City Council Chambers with the speaker being Margarita Suarez.
Registration fee of $12.50 to cover the cost of lunch.
Lunch would be done by Creative Delights Catering.
Maximum of 40 attendees. 4th
Annual Home Visiting Summit Training for Home Visitors - “Seeing is Believing:
Using Videotaping and Guided Self-Observation to Promote Parental
Sensitivity” on February 14, 2003 in the Linkletter Auditorium at the
Olympic Medical Center with the speaker being Dr. Marti Erickson. Marti developed STEEP (Steps Toward Effective, Enjoyable
Parenting), a preventive intervention program for parents and infants. Costs would be $2,000 plus travel. There are some $ in the Rural Health Grant and $1,000 in
Grant from the State (written by Nita and Janet Proebstel). Charge a registration fee just to cover the cost of lunch
and have registration fee made payable to Prevention Works! Nita will have Marti email her bio the Jennifer. Florence will check on Seat Time Stipend $ with Fiona (FEL Grant). Jennifer will call Gail at Creative Delights Catering regarding lunch. Pam will talk with Angie Graff about nursing credits and collaboration. Ida will contact the school district regarding clock hours. Janet will contact Head Start and Early Head Start. Jennifer will have Shaine email the list of home visitors to her and then will send it out to the committee. Jennifer will do a save the date flyer that also requests feedback on who would need seat time $. Jennifer will work on registration flyer. The next meeting is scheduled before the Prevention Works! meeting on November 18th at 3:30 p.m. at Olympic Medical Center (basement meeting room) with telelink to the West End. |
