Pam Arnott opened meeting.

1. Each agency represented gave an update on the home visiting programs that their agency is doing and the staff involved.  Agencies represented were: Clallam Co. Health Dept., Forks Hospital/Westend Outreach, Olympic Medical Center/New Family Services, Clallam Co Human Services and First Step Family Support Center.
2. Discussed State of WA First Steps Redesign and the impact on delivery of services in Clallam Co.
3. Discussed research done about Home visiting summit to date. Florence and Ida had communicated with woman in Alaska re: doing a presentation on talking with clients about substance abuse and motivating them towards change.  She is interested in speaking but there would be a cost to fly her from Alaska (approx. $650) plus and honorarium.  As we do not have a budget as of yet for the Summit we were somewhat concerned about the cost and brainstormed other speakers and options including Kevin Haggarty from the UW School of Social Work. Ida brought info. On motivational interviewing.  Topic tabled as we do more research.  Nita to contact Head start to see about possible collaboration on training.
