Those attending were Jane Shefler, Shaine Schramling, Florence Bucierka, Nita Quan, Norma Turner, Angie Graff, Susan Kirsch.

Florence, Shaine & Jane will be gone for February 10 meeting.

Angie will chair that meeting. Deborah Feldman will do presentation..

We would like to have stories from agencies who have received Carolyn Foundation – talk about the impact of those monies on their agency.  It would be nice to get those stories in to the newspaper and would be a nice build up for the Prevention Works Forum.

Discussion to see what the Carolyn Foundation wants and if they might have additional funds.

Nita suggested we invite the granddaughter to the February meeting

Polly now works for Knight Foundation (out of Florida)

Discussion about Annual Meeting – Do we need a facilitator? Decided that maybe not this year.

q       Jane suggested we review goals . . . Not necessarily starting from scratch

q       Norma – Can present bylaws and other strategic plan information first to board but then to annual meeting.  Will present strategic plan (changes in bylaws, revised mission statement, policies-mostly things we’ve pulled out of bylaws, proposed Articles of Incorporation). 

q       Elections will be in April

Ida asked about Home Visiting Summit.  Florence talked about Comprehensive Prevention Plan. Ida asked about Prevention Works Forum – getting West End Endorsements

Norma asked about $50 from Prevention Works for endorsement for Prevention Pays. Board passed unanimously.

Florence – National Association of County’s Award. Nominate individual from the county – single individual. Discussion to nominate Mike Doherty. Florence will write it up. Nita Moved to submit Mike for National Association of Counties – Counties Care for Kids Award 2003 Application.

Norma – for Prevention Works $50 they will receive 1000 flyers. Florence has first half. Will have some at Home Visiting Summit. Nita suggested we get them out to churches. Need to get out to more conservative folks.

Florence – SAMHSA training March 13 & 14 in Seattle.  Nita will be going.  Florence went to a grant writing conference in Jefferson County.  Karen Bosley – Nita thinks she was hired to Foundation for Early Learning Grant. Florence will contact her about change for day’s training.

Susan Kirsh – husband got job with Federal Bankrupcy Court in Spokane. House has sold in Spokane.  Probably leaving early as mid-February to mid-March. She is looking at replacement for board. Liz Mueller or Cindy Lowe – might not have time with Dental Clinic. Kids will go to Mead School District
