Prevention Plan – When Debra was working with CCHSS. Talked with other prevention people and couldn’t identify anyone. Nothing at the State Level. There are already pieces together – Florence would like to do it with the June meeting. It’s the next phase of Strategic Plan but it’s broader than just Prevention Works! Karen said there may be documents we can look at – grant Jim did – other planning documents. No one has really done this big picture planning.

Next Board Meeting – May 26 - discuss Prevention Plan in greater detail.

(Cynthia) Garrison Kurtz – Foundation for Early Learning – to work with Child Care Providers in Clallam & Jefferson Counties. Cynthia talked with Martha Standley. Trying to get a hold of him and then will contact Nancy Martin. Funding for Child Care Providers for Training. Have previously focused on larger geographic areas. Has also been grant process but they also target populations. Fiona mentioned OPAEYC as needing to be involved. Want to significantly meet the demands of the community. Fiona – question for training money and maybe supplies.

If he is able to come to any meeting – Gwen talked about the importance about personally inviting people.

Next Clallam County Literacy Council – Thursday, May 6. 10:30 a.m. Library. Carver Room – maybe Barbara Clampett go.

Treasurer’s Report  (Rachel) – Haven’t yet changed signatories. Norma will also need to go down.

Grantwriters Training (Rachel) – June 21, 22, or 25. Looking at the college computer lab – rental for free. Caterer from College – Sodexho – 24 Monitors. Internet Access. 20 Slots, 24 people. Grantwriter has a list of things for people to think about it.
